World Youth Skill Day

Since 2014, the United Nations have earmarked 15th of July as a day to think and talk about the enablers barriers and challenges that young people face in employment. In commemoration of this day, the ARUA Centre of Excellence for Unemployment and Skills Development organised a webinar with discussants from Africa, United States and Canada. The theme of the program Resilient African Youth and Tomorrow’s World of Work: What Employability and Entrepreneurial Skills will be required? was discussed from the perspective of the speakers who were experts in government, academia, civil society, industry  and youth development. It was emphasised that education, technology and Inclusiveness remain the viable tools for supporting youth in creating a desirable future that is globally competitive.
